Yesterday I spent my first day at the beach. I have to brag that I did an amazing job of not getting sunburned.
Question: Who can get a sunburn while sitting in the shade?
Answer: This girl.
The above beach is called Playa del Drago and is fairly remote and empty is was really nice. We saw a baby Howler Monkey and a pet Spider Monkey in the little beach settlement.
It was actually kind of sad. I’m not used to animals not being treated like part of the family and forgot that down in the Caribbean people have a different take on pets and their roles in the home. It’s good for me to see but it isn’t easy sometimes.
Today we took a tour of the Botanical Gardens and saw more Howler Monkeys and actually spotted a Sloth which was very cool, even if he didn’t do a damn thing. Here are some pretty flowers.
That’s it so far folks. Hope this isn’t all coming across as gloating. I really just want to show you what I’m up to.

mmm...sloth. please gloat. do. it makes me happy to see you in paradise. just take a moment to pour a little pina colada on the sand for our dearly departed mcqueen. i'm expecting a Project Runway homage soon.
